BRIDGE

(A Tanka)

A poem is a bridge

Connecting two eager minds

 Spark of emotions

A grand vista opens up

Words are bonded forever

PLACES

Small space always interests me a lot

The world is infinite to the small me

So I nurture a me-space in my heart

Where tree-dreams blossom to take their wings

Baobabs beside the Zambezi beckon

The world is infinite to the small me

Those dewy eyes will never let me run

Seeing me her frail frame flutters in joy

Baobabs beside the Zambezi beckon

The night long journey to her makes my day

Dreamy Africa slowly disappears

Seeing me her frail frame flutters in joy

Even longest day sheds its light I fear

Yellow blooms on my doorsteps catch my eye

Dreamy Africa slowly disappears

I behold the sinking tangerine ray

Small space always interests me a lot

Yellow blooms on my doorsteps catch my eye

So I nurture a me-space in my heart
